The backbone of this hotel are Faruk, Kaan, and Kenan. They called taxis, ordered food, provided restaurant referrals, walked me to multiple points of interest, and provided great laughs! The quality of service, comfortable rooms, location, and price are absolutely phenomenal. Do not hesitate to book this hotel during your stay in Istanbul! P.S. Directly book with the hotel as opposed to making reservations through third party hotels for better pricing!

Lovely stay for five nights at Basileus Hotel for myself and my mum. We booked a double bedroom which was two singles pushed together, however the beds were so spacious you could easily fit 3-4. Both gentleman who run are very kind and resourceful. The night we arrived they ensured we had a map of Istanbul and explained the next ways to travel and where to visit. They arranged boat tours and airport pickup. Lovely view from our balcony. All in all great experience will love to come again!

We had a great time at this hotel. The staff went out of their way to help us and everything was as we expected if to be. No breakfast but that was not a problem for us as there are tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The only hiccup was the first night the water pressure was a bit low in the shower. This righted itself after about an hour, so we assume there were just a few too many showering at once. Other than that we could not fault the hotel at all. The location is also perfect as we walked nearly everywhere.

We arrived early in the morning. They held our bags. Checked into our room later. Moldy grout in shower. No sheets, washcloths or hand towels. Warm refrigerator. The “deck” overlooked an internal abyss that had trash. The pillows were hard. The mattress was hard. There was no spa (we were told there were 3 nearby) there is no parking. There is no breakfast. There is no ice machine. There is no view. More like a crappy hostel. Worst hotel we’ve stayed in in all of our world wide travels.
